Indeed, the best thought to keep in mind especially for those of us who have so far had a bit of a rough ride… 🙂

  1. Chaos is my friend too – I even have it inked on my back so it sticks close by. The world’s delight is its capacity to surprise us. Yes, there can always be brighter days ahead.

    1. ha-ha I hadn’t even thought of the possibility that he might be speaking in religious terms, such as the reward-after-life kind of thing. I liked the image, the idea, that instead of thinking “look at all the shit I have brought down upon myself and others in my life” I can think “well, the future holds a possibility for me to do some good stuff, too!”. So the worst you’ve had it, the better the future may well be. Whereas if you’ve had a very sheltered, protected life, the first bit of nastiness can bring it all shattering down.

      1. Yeah, I don’t believe in life’s balance, I believe in our own capacity for chaos and for having the constant possibility of going either way, or in between. So, as long as there are elements at play that can be shaken into being, those elements may, necessarily, fall into any combination. Wheras I can look back and see that there was only one outcome, perhaps a cycle or what have you, I choose to believe that moving forward I can always choose to add, remove, or shake elements differently everytime. Thus, there is a chance for better: compared to the certainty of the past, it’s a better deal! Chaos is my friend.
